Training series for policymakers and potential LNG investors
To strengthen the capacity of the Downstream Natural Gas Industry stakeholders, the Gas Policy Development Project 2 conducted two (2) separate training series for policymakers and potential LNG investors in July 2022. The LNG training was attended by the technical staff of the Committees on Energy from the Senate and House of Representatives and representatives from fifteen (15) private energy companies in the Philippines.
During the online courses, GPDP experts provided introductory lectures on the GPDP’s Proposed Regulatory Process for the Philippine Downstream Natural Gas Regulations (PDNGR); policy regulatory framework; local government unit’s roles; and structural, electrical, and environmental considerations within the Philippine Downstream Natural Gas Industry (PDNGI) value chain.
The training is part of the capacity-building activities of the GPDP 2 that aims to provide technical assistance to the Department of Energy (DOE) in implementing the PDNGR circular (DC 2017-11-0012).
