Training on Economic, Financial, and Legal Aspects of LNG Projects

GPDP 2 held an online training on the “Economic, Financial, and Legal Aspects of LNG Projects,” on 22 June 2021.  The training was co-organized with the Department of Energy and the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce. 

More than 40 participants coming from various government agencies were in attendance including representatives from Department of Energy, Department of Interior and Local Government—Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Labor and Employment—Bureau of Working Conditions, Maritime Industry Authority , Batangas City Engineers Office, and Senate Committee on Energy. 

The training provided better understanding on the technical and commercial aspects of the LNG value chain;  domestic and international LNG markets and emerging trends; primary uses of natural gas focusing on gas-to-power utilization; and legal structuring and financial requirements of privately-financed projects.

Among the resource speakers are Mr. Kenyon Weaver, Senior Counsel at CLDP; Prof. Susan Sakmar, Assistant Professor at University of Houston Law Center; Mr. Mohamed Badissy, Senior Attorney at CLDP; and Ms. Suzanne Logan, Attorney-Advisor at CLDP.
