From April to June 2022, the GPDP conducted its Agency-Specific Training (AST) Series, which was designed to develop the institutional and individual technical expertise of the Philippine downstream natural gas industry (PDNGI) regulators and improve overall governance in managing LNG activities.  The ASTs were based on GPDP’s Proposed Regulatory Process and included courses that introduced a list of proposed documentary requirements for application, permitting, licensing, inspection, and monitoring specific to the agency.  It also equipped the agencies with technical knowledge in understanding the application of global codes and standards relevant to LNG facilities and operations within the PDNGI value chain.

The ASTs were conducted for 8 government agencies including Philippine Coast Guard; Philippine Ports Authority; Maritime Industry Authority; Department of Labor and Employment; Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Bureau of Fire Protection; and the local government units of Batangas Province and Pagbilao Quezon.
