GPDP 3 Holds Knowledge Transfer Workshop to Strengthen DOE Research Capacity

13 Jun 25

The Gas Policy Development Project Phase 3 (GPDP 3) conducted a Knowledge Transfer Workshop with the Department of Energy – Natural Gas Management Division (DOE-NGMD) on the morning of  June 13, 2025, at Joy Nostalg Hotel, Pasig City.  The workshop  focused on equipping DOE-NGMD technical staff with the tools and methodologies used in GPDP 3’s recent studies.

Among the key topics discussed were demand projections, survey extrapolation techniques, process synthesis and development, Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) calculations, and life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology. The discussions were led by GPDP Research Team members, Ms. Melissa Lopez, Engr. Paul Jake Nalzaro, Ms. Thea Mae Baltazar, and Engr. Bemboy Subosa.

In addition, JERA, GPDP 3’s technical partner, provided a discussion on the Basic Understanding of LNG Characteristics, which includes foundational insights to further support DOE’s analytical and operational readiness, particularly in downstream natural gas.

This initiative forms part of GPDP 3’s broader commitment to strengthening research and capacity-building through technical collaboration and sustained knowledge sharing with government partners.
